Dear Valued Branded Internet Service Provider,

As you are aware we recently upgraded our mail server infrastructure. This upgrade includes many new and exciting features. A major part of this is that now our webmail system mail sever have direct integration. What does this mean for you and your users?

Improved Antispam protection, configurable on a per user basis

Using the Webmail interface you and your users can define custom antispam settings for their account. You and your users can choose the threshold level of antispam-filtering, where to route spam messages, define user-level white/blacklists, enable Bayesian filtering and train the Antispam filters yourself.

To set or modify Antispam settings login to Webmail for the account you want to modify and go to settings and then Spam settings. You will be able to adjust the following parameters:

  • Spam detection level, or the threshold at which an email is classified as Spam
  • Spam treatment, where you can decide what happens to Spam (move to a folder, delete or tag the subject line)
  • Trusted or Blacklist senders, where you can specifically allow or deny email based on the sender, and
  • Allow recipients, which is to specifically allow email based on the recipient email

To train the Bayesian Antispam filters on Spam, every time you notice a Spam email slip through you should move the email to the Spam folder in Webmail (or if you are using the Advanced AJAX interface, right-click on the mail and Mark as Spam). Any email placed into your Spam folder will train the Spam scanner as to what is Spam.

If you have a false positive, or an email identified as Spam which is not Spam, all you need to do is move this email from the Spam folder to the Inbox. In the same way the scanner will learn that this is not Spam.

Please note: This process is extremely important and must be done on an ongoing basis as through ongoing training the Antispam scanner will improve its accuracy and performance.

Auto-Reply Message

Our mail server now supports an Away, or Holiday message. This means that you can set up a auto-reply message which will automatically be sent to the sender of any email arriving in your mailbox.

To set or modify an auto-reply message login to Webmail for the account you want to modify and go to settings and then Auto-Reply Message. You will be able to set the Auto-Reply message.

Email Diversion

Another new feature is an email divert. What you can do is automatically forward every email arriving in your mailbox onto another email address. The email is sent to the specified mailbox, without leaving a copy behind in your mailbox.

To set or modify an email diversion login to Webmail for the account you want to modify and go to settings and then Email Diversion. You will be able to set the Forward to address.
