EXCITING CHANGES AT BRANDED INTERNET

We've made a number of new changes and upgrades at Branded Internet which we'd like to update you on. We're really excited about these, all of which are there to provide you with a better service.

BISP NEWS

Priority Helpdesk Number

We have just launched a priority helpdesk number for all of our BISPs. This helpdesk number is there for BISPs to obtain any help they might need when dealing with customers. The priority helpdesk number is 086 123 BISP (086 123 2477).

Please note that this number is ONLY for BISPs and is not to be given to end users. End users must continue to use the normal helpdesk number.

SUPPORT REPORT

New Support Staff

We have added an additional nine support staff members to our helpdesk team. These qualified technicians started with us during June and have been through an intensive training process. All of our new team members are all now taking calls, so if you get through to one of them, please be sure to introduce yourself and say hi.

BI INFRASTRUCTURE

We're UP 24 Hours EVERYDAY

We all know how frustrating load shedding can be and the negative effect it can have on your business.

To address this we have just upgraded our office generator to a much larger diesel unit with more than enough capacity to keep our office, support desk and systems running 24 x 7.

SYSTEMS & OPERATIONS

Server Upgrades

We are in the process of further upgrading our server infrastructure. This includes the following:

  • Three additional mail servers being added to our existing mail server cluster
  • Upgrading of our web and database server cluster
  • Installation of a redundant Intel storage array with 12Tb of storage

Changes to DNA

In addition to the server upgrades we will also be making live a number of changes to DNA. The biggest change is the separating of access accounts and mailboxes. This is primarily a change in our backend, but you will see that the Customer Details view in DNA will be slightly changed.

The changes to DNA will be going live after the new servers are installed and tested.

Changes to Mail Server

We will be implementing a number of changes on our mail server. This upgrade is being done to capitalise on the additional capacity we will have on our cluster, as well as to add in additional functionality. Part of this upgrade is also to better integrate the mail server with our clustered database server.

The changes to the mail server will be going live after the new servers are installed and tested.

All of these upgrades will be taking place during the next two weeks, and should be completed by the end of July. We have planned this project carefully and expect a smooth change over.
