Bonus Bandwidth soft cap ADSL product parameters

When offering the Bonus Bandwidth soft cap ADSL product to clients, keep the following technical parameters in mind

  • Soft cap ADSL products allow for 4 concurrent connections.
  • Uncapped ADSL products (all speeds) allow for 1 concurrent connection.
  • Soft cap ADSL products will work on any line speed. The download speed is dependent on the line speed.
  • Uncapped ADSL products have two speed options 512kb (which will work on 384kb or 512kb line) and 1Mb (which will work on a 1Mb or 4 Mb lines). The download speed is dependent on the line speed.
  • Soft cap ADSL products will never have speed limitations (throttling).
  • Uncapped ADSL products have a 10 day rolling threshold on traffic. This means that accounts which use more than the threshold amount of traffic during the previous 10 day period, will have a limited (throttled) line speed. Line speeds will be limited but not disconnected. This throttling only applies on weekdays from 7am to 7pm.
  • The threshold amounts are as follows:
    • 512kb = 30Gig during a 10 day rolling period
    • 1Mb = 50Gig during a 10 day rolling period

SUPPORT REPORT

Comedy on Hold

During March we will be introducing a new innovation in our call center Comedy on Hold. We work hard to answer and process support as quickly as possible, but sometimes customers may have to hold on for one of our agents. To make that time a little less boring and a little more fun, we're going be introducing Comedy on Hold instead of music.

SYSTEMS & OPERATIONS

Server Upgrades

We are glad to report that the admin server upgrade which took place last week went extremely well with no hiccups reported. We do ask you to please still keep an eye out for any bugs or errors and report them to bispsupport@brandedinternet.co.za or call us on 086 123 BISP.

Spam Settings

Please note that we have made changes to our global spam settings. These changes have increased our threshold and auto-learning levels.

Our spam server works on a per mailbox basis where your customer can and must set their own individual spam settings. If a client finds they are getting increase spam levels they can log into their Webmail via "http://webmail.yourbispdomain/" with their emailaddress as password. There they will see a spam folder. Any mails that you move from the Inbox to the Spam folder will teach our anti-spam system that these emails are spam, increasing the probability of catching mails of this type in the future.

If a client finds that certain emails may not coming through, they should first check their Spam folder in their Webmail to see if the missing email is in this folder. If it is, all you need to move this email from the Spam folder back to the Inbox, and again the anti-spam system will learn for the future that this type of email is not spam.
